An unexpected end to an evening out

We went out for dinner in the old town of Nazaré and enjoyed our first dinner out since leaving Portland what feels like ages. After we decided to look further around in the old town where we found a bull fighting rings. This was the day when mom learnt what bull fighting was and required seeing the cats after. The way it works is a banderillero will start with the first move so the matador can asses the bulls behaviour the matador will then perform the well known cape work and will attempt to pull the bull closer to themselves without being injured also known as gored then the entrance of picadors, horsemen who jab the bull with lances to weaken its shoulder and neck muscles before the matador makes the final blow with a sword between the shoulder blades to kill the bull. which despite knowing the bull was killed it is gruesome to hear about and to see a place where it is celebrated. But did you know bull fighting is actually protected by the European Union under the heading of national culture. But it is a controversial sport and many have different opinions on it killing animals is gruesome and brutal, should it really be allowed in the name of preservation?
