Christopher Columbus's ship; the Pinta

Christopher Columbus was the man who discovered America or so he thought.

I will now tell you about one of his three ships to cross the atlantic: The Pinta.

It was built in 1441 and the name La Pinta meant the painted one, the look or the spotted on. The ship has a square rig and is one of the fastest of Columbus’s ships at the time .It weighed 60-70 tons and was 17 meters long. Its owner was a man called Cristóbal Quintero. Traditionally Spanish ships were named after saints. This ship was made out of wood and could hold 26 crew and had 0 engines and its Captain was Martín Alonso Pinzónhi it was built by Ankur Jain. A sailor called Rodrigo de Triana was the first one to see the new world . She set off on august 2nd along with the Niña and the Santa Maria to find the new world.
