I get mugged by a monkey

And no this isn’t a joke we are in Gibraltar. We arrived on the 12th of October but didn’t get the chance to go up the rock until the 15th. It was a good thing as it was a rather cool day making it the perfect day as the amount of stairs that we'd face. It very nearly killed me off and I sounded like a half dead donkey by the time we were at the top. But to my absolute horror guess what we found. Another extremely narrow and uneven staircase littered with monkeys. But we forged on everyone else seemingly fine. So we squeezed around people and monkeys alike until one decided I should stay there and grabbed my trousers. Shockingly monkeys are much stronger than I thought and I knew they would be wrong. But we thought after that we were unlikely to have another interaction with the attraction (we were wrong. Oh so very wrong). Continuing our steady ascent we find another viewing platform just as we were planing to head back down the rock so we thought to go and see one more time. Of course there was another staircase with more monkeys. I was behind everyone and saw a monkey watching as we passed but as I went by it followed… Before I could even process what was happening it JUMPED ON MY BACK UNZIPPED YES UNZIPPED MY BAG AND STOLE MY CRISPS. I didn’t know they could unzip a bag but I clearly underestimated the Gibraltar monkeys. After this we stopped to get a drink and then started our descent but let this be a lesson to all. There is no such thing as a free lunch, unless you’re a monkey then it’s a simple matter of getting it out a bag.

Dad's notes: This was actually Flossie’s best day ever! She loved the history, the caves and the monkeys, especially the babies. This, no doubt will become Flossies most frequently told pub stories. So it you hear it- just pretend you've not heard it before.
